About the Role

  • The Technology and Innovation (T&I) group is responsible for developing and managing solutions throughout their lifecycle, aligning customer needs with business objectives, and driving continuous performance and innovation in market.
  • The Head of T&I Strategic Operations role is accountable for driving cross
- portfolio planning, performance, company alignment and execution to strategy.

  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders internally and externally, you will ensure the portfolios performance is optimised, leveraging best in class product/ portfolio, innovation and GTM practices.
  • This new leadership role includes both external and strategic accountabilities as well as internal operational accountabilities, driving execution and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio planning and performance:

  • Establish and manage solution/ service lifecycle planning in accordance with broader company operating cadence.

Structured innovation framework
  • Develop and facilitate a fit for purpose innovation framework and governance, engaging across the business nationally and globally. Enable rapid assessment of new opportunities through simple but structured stagegate framework with clear entry, exit and investment criteria.

Strategic partners:

  • Drive a consistent and holistic approach to engaging with strategic partners, maximising benefits and opportunities across portfolios.

Research / Market trends
  • Identify and manage key research sources required for effective portfolio management and facilitate voice of customer input to portfolio management.

Vertical markets
  • Develop select vertical market knowledge, needs and requirements and lead specific vertical market propositions leveraging NEC local and global capabilities.

Key Skills

  • Strategic, 'big picture' thinking with ability to mobilise and translate to practical actions.
  • Strong communications and facilitation skills facilitating people and processes to drive outcomes.
  • Solid business acumen through the complete business lifecycle, from concept ideation and development, through to execution, repeatability, ROI, and end of life stages.
  • Understanding of best practice 'Product Management' and 'GotoMarket' principles and practices.
  • Deep understanding of the marketplace and competitive landscape, and strategies to maintain such understanding in a fastmoving dynamic landscape.
  • Strategic relationship building and management with the broader business and partner community.
  • Strategic Planning with ability to break down complex themes to practical pieces of work and clear outcomes.
  • Familiarity with innovation models.
  • Experience in strategy and or operational role, ideally in a product function within a technology led organisation.
