About this opportunity

The Head of Government and Policy Advocacy, Australia and New Zealand will become part of a strengthened and dynamic Government and Policy Advocacy team with a focus on enhancing Ericsson's insight, access, and influence with policymakers. The policy issues at hand are critical to customers, wide-ranging, and fundamental for societal progress. The aim is to impact policy early in its development and introduce new policy ideas to align with the company's strategic goals.

As the Head of Government and Policy Advocacy Australia and New Zealand, you will be accountable for:

  • Developing and leading advocacy objectives on Ericsson's business and policy priorities with government stakeholders.
  • Creating verbal and written internal briefing materials for local, regional, and global Ericsson executives.
  • Evaluating and predicting significant public policy issues, coordinating external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives.
  • Communicating the impact of policy changes on Ericsson's business clearly and effectively.
  • Representing Ericsson's interests in industry associations where the company holds membership.

Qualifications

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage at corporate and political levels.
  • Capability to deliver factual and relevant messaging persuasively to various audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects in a complex organizational setup.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity, with a focus on compliance risks related to interactions with government entities.
  • Proficiency in identifying and analyzing key technology issues in legislative and regulatory proposals.
  • Ability to think critically, synthesize information, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Background in government, corporate public policy, or trade associations.
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred in relevant disciplines.
  • 7+ years of experience in government or corporate public policy, preferably in the technology sector.
