The 90 room hotel has a rooftop bar with city skyline views, a stylish steak house eatery & funky cafe alongside conference / events & room service.


About the role

We are seeking a passionate & talented Bar manager &/or Venue Manager to lead our beverage offerings to ongoing success & also to lead the busy beverage operation across the hotel with a lifted mandate moving forward.


Both these roles will oversee the operational management of the Hotel's front of house & beverage operations & will be fully responsible for developing the reputation of the hotel through the production of excellent quality beverages.


What will I be doing?

  • Inspire your bar & FOH team, displaying exemplary behaviour at all times & a handson approach to leadership
  • Encourage your team, using a variety of recognition materials & tools
  • Be innovative, continually looking for ways to wow our guests & challenge the team to create an exciting & contemporary offering
  • Ensure the consistent production of highquality drinks & service through all hotel food outlets
  • Develop positive customer relations through interacting with our guests and being the face of the bar
  • Develop sound & longlasting relationship with our suppliers, ensuring a winwin scenario
  • Encourage sound relationships based on trust with other departments in the hotel
  • Manage department operations, including budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, beverage costs & waste management
  • Manage all aspects of the bar including operational, quality & administrative functions
  • Actively seek verbal feedback from customers on a regular basis & respond to all guest queries in a timely & efficient manner
  • Ensure adequate resources are available according to business needs
  • Control costs without compromising standards, improving gross profit margins & other departmental & financial targets
  • Ensure team members have uptodate knowledge of the offering, special promotions, functions & events
  • Ensure that staffing levels are maintained to cover business demands
  • Recruit, manage, train & develop the FOH brigade, constantly building a highly engaged & productive team
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all company & state health and safety legislation
  • Ensure maintenance, hygiene & hazard issues are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Be environmentally aware & constantly looking for ways to decrease our environmental footprint

What are we looking for?

  • Previous bar leadership & management experience (preferably 5 years or more) in a fullservice hotel of a similar size
  • Substantial & successful history of excellent leadership, communication & stakeholder management skill
  • Proven track record of successful bar operation through beverage cost & payroll management
  • A creative approach to the production of highquality beverages & offering
  • Ability to multitask & meet deadlines
  • A current, valid, and relevant trade qualification (proof may be required)
  • Proven ability to recruit, motivate, train & lead successful teams
  • A degreelevel qualification in a managementrelated field (advantageous)
