The Opportunity: Reporting to the Sales Manager - Southern, the Sales Account Manager – Construction & Utility’s key function is to maintain existing customer sales and actively develop new business in the region for Construction and Utility equipment.

  Key accountabilities include:

Maintain engagement with existing customers and development of new business opportunities through adherence to a proactive weekly call plan in outlook calendar. Maintain call plan and pipeline activities through the CRM Opportunities & Activities Module. Capture all profitable sales within designated territory to achieve or exceed Komatsu national market share average. Update Komatsu CRM with opportunities and quotations on a weekly basis and ensure data kept up to date, relevant and accurate including lost sales. Ensure all machine deliveries are conducted in a professional and timely manner through coordination with the Sales Manager and the Operator Trainer. Analysis and timely reporting on sales trends, competitive actions, internal intelligence and competitor actions at sales meetings. Ensure the financial viability of the sales department through precise and detailed order preparation and management of the sales discount structure. Develop / implement / endorse / encourage Company initiatives to increase profitability through expenditure cost savings. Liaise with Sales Manager to give the forecasting required to manage sales activities. Build, foster and retain good working relations with all key decision-makers within the customer organisational structures and internal departments by utilising the Komatsu’s Customer Support Charter as the guiding principles for all business interactions. Maintain Product Knowledge through regular Komatsu product training and attendance and successful completion of the National Construction Division Training (NCDT). Be actively involved in the preparation and attendance at industry field days when required.

What we are looking for:

A proven background in Construction & Utility Equipment Industry sales. Ability to demonstrate product knowledge including mechanical and technical data. Highly developed sales skills, with an ability to develop and maintain a proactive call plan. Well organised and results orientated. Customer centric with well-developed communication skill both written and verbal. Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel. Good analytical and conceptual skills. Ability to implement corporate policy.
