How you will spend your time 

As a Team Lead- Data Analytics you will: 

  • Lead mentor and manage a team of data analysts and analytics engineers, ensuring they are aligned and delivering to business objectives and are prioritised clearly.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders and design and implement strategies to support business growth and operations.
  • Work collaboratively with our Data Engineers to understand underlying data assets and build business centric and reusable assets to fulfil analytical needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Digital, Growth and Marketing, Banking, Lending, Operations to understand data needs.
  • Enforce data governance including regulatory compliance and uphold data quality standards in analysis and reporting.

What you will bring 

  • Appropriate industry experience/qualifications in data analytics/insights
  • Technical expertise in building datasets to support self-service visualisation tools (Power BI)  and using relational databases and analytic tools such as SQL, R,DBT or Python to extract meaning from complex data sources
  • Leadership and management experience in data and analytics and strong business acumen
  • A disciplined approach to managing quality and priority

Essential 

  • Practical experience and can demonstrate this in the discovery, exploration and analysis of large and complex data sets, preferably including financial services data
  • Demonstrated experience in building robust analytical assets and pipelines (automated or repeated processes and general purpose view/table structures supporting analytics/insights).
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with a range of technical and business stakeholders
  • Experience with advanced analytics and data science
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational and time management skills

Desirable 

  • Previous work experience with the Databricks platform (highly desirable)
  • Experience in financial products or insurance sectors will be advantageous
  • Exposure to regulatory/operational reporting
  • Practical experience of data preparation, transformation and modelling techniques including Data Vault and Kimball/Inmon
