What does the job look like?

The primary function of the TS Portfolio and Delivery Manager is to be the single point of contact for business services communications and the key coordinator of the work pipeline coming through multiple channels into the Transport Solutions team. At a high level, key competencies include Portfolio Management (especially resource and work pipeline management), Project Management skills (in particular, stakeholder engagement, vendor management, project planning), ‘pre-sales’ and high-level Business Analysis skills (workshop facilitation, commercial business case development).

This role will create value by coordinating the multi channels of work requests, coaching our tech operations leads and shaping up work packages to a level the technical teams can work with. This role will be the core communication channel for all business services provided through this Groups remit.

The TS Portfolio and Delivery Manager role is a vital position and leadership role in the Transport Solutions Team. This role will work closely with other Portfolio and Delivery Managers within IT, and the Technical Product and Resource Managers within the Transport Solutions Team.

Specific tasks required to be performed by this role include:

People Management: Model the Linfox LIFT values – Loyalty, Integrity, Fairness and Trust in all engagements.Leadership – inspire your team members, both direct reports and those you service.Coaching and Development – bring and share your expertise across our team. Specifically, coaching and development of your technical operations peers in adjacent skills (e.g., vendor management, budget management, pipeline management) Participate in delivery of projects and initiatives: Support the business units by communicating and providing updates in relation to Transport Solutions Team Engagement: The TS Portfolio and Delivery Manager is a highly collaborative role, communication across stakeholder groups in a complex matrix structure is a key competency.Allocate priority work across team members.Support vendor management process and governance Work with architects and wider stakeholder groups to ensure solutions meet business needs. Design and drive process efficiency across Linfox operations and support services: Become a SME of TS business practices over time.Work within established Linfox project methodologies and architectural guidelines. Data driven decisions and commercial impact: Prepare Cost, Benefit and Business Cases required for initiatives.Model and analyse future commercial constructs in relation to potential solutions, clearly illustrating the future years budget impact.

You are an experienced technologist with a commercial bent, and a pragmatic negotiator focused on getting the job done. You will create value by eliciting and coordinating multiple channels of work requests, coaching our tech operations leads to roadmap demand and shaping up work packages to a level the technical teams can work with.

Other background/experience will include:

Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline preferred.Experience managing projects and stakeholders is essential to this role.Leading and influencing others is essential to this role.PM and BA accreditation (e.g., Prince2, BABOK etc) are preferred but not essential (if experience is illustrated)Experience in strategic business engagement and BU presalesUnderstanding of work pipeline and Portfolio management techniquesUnderstanding of Business case delivery and commercial benefits realisationUnderstanding of Project/Program Management and Portfolio Management frameworksWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
