GoActive Outdoors is a subsidiary of the ARB Group, and is the exclusive importer and distributor of Thule Sport & Cargo and Active with Kids, Konig Snow Chains, UVEX Bike and Ski Helmets, Survival First aid and Viair bike compressors.

The Channel Manager for the Thule brand will play a pivotal role in driving growth across key distribution channels, with a focus on the OEM vehicle market, baby products (including car seats and strollers), and the ski industry (specifically Konig snow chains). This position requires a highly skilled professional with a deep understanding of automotive engineering, the baby products sector, and the ski industry. The ideal candidate will also possess a strong background in marketing, product range planning, pricing strategies, and high-level negotiations with key accounts. Furthermore, the Channel Manager must be adept at analysing data and generating insights to optimise channel performance effectively.

This full time permanent role demands a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and marketing proficiency to effectively manage a diverse product portfolio across multiple channels. The successful candidate will drive business growth and cultivate strategic relationships with key stakeholders at the highest levels.

Key Responsibilities:


OEM Vehicle Channel Management:

  • Build relationships with OEM manufacturers and distributors.
  • Integrate Thule products into OEM accessory programs.
  • Collaborate on joint marketing initiatives and stay updated on automotive trends.


Baby Channel Expertise (Car Seats & Strollers):

  • Ensure compliance with Australian safety regulations for baby products.
  • Develop partnerships with retailers and regulatory bodies.
  • Drive category growth by aligning products with consumer trends.


Ski Industry Channel (Konig Snow Chains):

  • Understand tyre sizes and snow chain compatibility.
  • Promote Konig snow chains through collaborations with ski resorts and retailers.
  • Educate customers on product benefits and specifications.


Marketing & Channel Management:

  • Execute channel marketing strategies and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with teams to design tailored marketing campaigns.
  • Analyse market positioning for improved visibility.


Product Range Planning & Pricing:

  • Manage product range and conduct price modelling for profitability.
  • Implement pricing strategies based on market conditions.


High-Level Negotiation & C-Level Selling:

  • Lead negotiations with major accounts and C-level executives.
  • Present product portfolios and sales strategies to secure opportunities.


Sales Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyse sales data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Provide actionable insights and reports to senior management.


Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:

  • Serve as the point of contact for channel-related activities.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate market feedback into product development.


Product & Market Knowledge:

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Thule’s products and industry regulations.


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, experience and skills:

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, preferably with a focus on Data Analytics.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in channel management, ideally in the automotive, baby products, or ski industries.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the OEM vehicle market, including engineering and product development.
  • Strong understanding of Australian regulations for baby car seats and strollers.
  • Experience with technical products in the ski industry, specifically snow chains and tyre compatibility.
  • Proven track record in product range planning, price modelling, and margin management.
  • Demonstrated success in C-level selling and high-level negotiations, with major account management experience.


Technical Skills:

  • Strong analytical abilities, with proficiency in data analysis, sales reporting, and generating actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with Australian safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and advanced Excel for data analysis.

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cultivate long-term partnerships.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
