Due to substantial growth of the QinetiQ business, QinetiQ’s IT operation is evolving to provide the technology and IT services that will underpin QinetiQ’s future global strategy and ambitions. We are now accepting applications for a hands-on Business Applications Manager based in Adelaide, Canberra or Melbourne.

Reporting to the IT Manger (Australia), the Business Applications Manager is instrumental in supporting, configuring and customising QinetiQ’s business applications tools and information systems to meet business needs across QinetiQ’s environments. This role will also manage and provide leadership to a small team of IT professionals.

As the Business Applications Manager you will be accountable for:

Coordinating, supervising and supporting the Business Applications team in all aspects of the team’s day-to-day duties Providing technical and professional leadership to QinetiQ’s IT Business Applications team Managing the business application support queues and ensuring elevated requests are actioned in a timely and professional manner Driving and managing the operational integrity of QinetiQ’s key business applications and software systems Supporting/managing procurement activities in support of business applications and their associated operations Management of team projects and tasks, including planning, scheduling and implementation within allocated budgets and controls Engaging with business stakeholders in the tailoring of commercial software products to meet specific business requirements Reporting to IT management on key issues and project/task outcomes Contributing to the design and implementation of QinetiQ’s overall IT strategy

As suitably experienced and well-rounded IT professional, the Business Applications Manager will need to bring with them:

Seasoned experience in a similar IT manager/leadership role Proven supervisory and/or team leadership experience Extensive experience in supporting and configuring commercial software products such as ERP’s, Financial Systems, HR Systems and Engineering toolsets Experience in the development and maintenance of application and technology roadmaps Working knowledge and understanding of ITIL principles Operational understanding and awareness of information & cybersecurity and how this is applied in operational environments Highly developed communication and engagement skills, with the ability to deal with people at all levels of an organisation including liaising with a wide range of diverse IT & business stakeholders A high level of organisational skills including the capacity to set priorities for self and or others and work to deadlines

Whilst not essential, a tertiary qualification in computer science or information technology would be advantageous.

Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1 Australian Government Security Clearance.
