About The Role

We have a rare opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Senior Child Health Nurse to join the Residential Parenting Service (RPS) team in Kensington. The successful candidate will be working three (3) days a week (45.6 hours per fortnight) on a permanent Part-Time basis. Workdays and shifts may vary to meet the needs of the service.

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), this integral role provides leadership, mentoring, supervision, consultation and management for an interdisciplinary team, while delivering quality care for families who access Ngala residential services.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities include however are not limited to:

  • Support daily operations of the RPS alongside the NUM.
  • Manage team recruitment, onboarding, and rostering activities.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and service evaluations.
  • Build effective relationships with families, colleagues, and external service providers.
  • Collaborate with parents to enhance their strengths and parenting skills.

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant qualifications in Child Health Nursing and current AHPRA registration.
  • Qualifications in Child and Community Health Nursing; team leadership experience is highly desirable.
  • Significant postgraduate nursing experience with advanced knowledge in strengths-based practice.
  • Experience working with families, understanding perinatal and infant mental health impacts.
  • Knowledge of contemporary social issues affecting children and families.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict management; trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a National Police Check issued within the last 6 months.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
