This is a 12 month parental leave contract role.

What you’ll do

  • Be the point-person for all media activities: Design earned media strategies and pitches to reporters to attract coverage in targeted outlets, triage inbound media requests and proactively identify opportunities for Airtree to add to public conversations. 
  • Support and be a thought partner to Airtree’s leadership team on all things communications-related: Prepare internal stakeholders for speaking opportunities and media interviews and work with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels and touchpoints with founders and LPs. 
  • Act as our brand custodian: Manage Airtree’s brand identity to ensure wherever we show up is consistent and aligned with our audience, values and goals. 
  • Oversee, manage and create content for Open Source VC: Collaborate with the Airtree team and subject matter experts to produce high-quality content to add to the Open Source VC library of resources. 
  • Design and execute marketing initiatives that add value to our community: From webinars to workshops, email or digital campaigns, you’ll source talent, write copy, put together creative and measure results across our marketing efforts.
  • Act as an extension of our portfolio companies PR & Comms teams: Provide portfolio companies with guidance, reviews, feedback and resources on fundraise announcements and media opportunities.

Requirements

The person we're looking for:

  • Has a proven track record of transforming marketing and communication strategies into fully executed projects, often with limited resources, from concept to final delivery. 
  • Works autonomously and with ambiguity, connecting the dots on strategy, rolling up your sleeves and executing. 
  • Is a brand champion, ensuring marketing initiatives have respect and empathy for Airtree’s audience, with an eye for design and awareness of societal shifts and contextual nuance. 
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate technical concepts and simplify them for various audiences. 
  • Reads the room, media sentiment and internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating high judgement in decision-making, balancing risk and reward, and consistently making sound choices in complex and ambiguous situations. 
  • Collaborate with multiple senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, managing upwards and guiding them towards delivering outcomes that align with and achieve business goals.
