About Hyatt Hotel Canberra - A Park Hyatt Hotel

Hyatt Hotel Canberra is Canberra's first hotel located in the heart of the capital. Our Heritage listed hotel interweaves the hidden mystique of the 1920s with modern Art Deco designs. With 252 rooms and suites, our hotel offers an escape within a heritage-inspired setting. The traditional furniture styles as well as garden and park views are all enhanced with sleek technology.

About the Role

You will be responsible to assist with the efficient running of the department in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, while meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. The Sales Manager is responsible for relationship building, and account management.

Some of the responsibilities include:

Provide exceptional client service at all times. Attend major travel and trade shows and corporate functions to promote the hotel and coordinate sales trips to key feeder cities (predominately Sydney and Melbourne). Coordinate Client Appreciation Events for the local Canberra Market. Partake in telemarketing activities to identify new business opportunities. Responsible for developing and acquisitioning new business and assisting with retention of existing business. Manage an agreed portfolio of accounts, allocated according to market segment through reactive and proactive sales activities. Understanding client needs and handle enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner

A successful candidate will have:

Experience in sales Good understanding of selling techniques Strong computer skills in MS Office, email Passion for sales and hospitality Good administrative, time management, organisational and problem-solving skills Excellent communications, sales and customer service skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
