Assistant Relationship Manager

- Great opportunity to build a career in Regional Commercial & Agribusiness Banking, due to an internal promotion within the team.
- Support a diversified high value portfolio within our high performing Regional & Agribusiness Team
- Darwin based role, with working flexibility
How will I help?
Rock-solid relationships are at the heart of every commercial banking decision we make. In this strategic role you’ll work closely with Senior Relationship Managers across a varied portfolio to make sure those connections are second to none. Westpac Regional and Agribusiness is committed to sharing the journey with the industry and ensuring they are strongly supported and positioned for growth now and into the future.
Our Assistant Relationship Managers play a really important role in generating high-quality deals – helping with everything from credit submissions and deal structuring to financial analysis. Your financial insights will be put to good use, spotting any potential risks involved with existing or new clients and their financial requests. You will conduct cash flow, risk, and financial statement analysis, and regularly review portfolios to make sure the best quality credit is maintained, while making sure the relationships we have with our Agribusiness clients are kept in just as good shape.
What’s in it for me?
You’ll play a significant part of the future of a business that has been around for over 200 years. Our purpose is to create better futures together. So, we’ll back you in the development of your career, internal career prospects, and flexible working. You’ll also keep learning to grow your career, backed by a fantastic team of people with a can-do, supportive structure. Whatever shape your family takes, we offer generous paid and unpaid parental leave for your nominated primary and support carers. This includes leave to organise adoptions, surrogacy, and foster care arrangements. And we continue to pay your super contributions while you take all the time you need to get your new family settled.
What do I need?
We’d love to hear from aspirational accounting professionals looking to develop into our Senior Agribusiness Bankers of the future. You’ll need to have some serious financial smarts and ideally, you’ll have had exposure to financial analysis and credit assessment and a strong understanding of risk and compliance processes.
You’ll be a natural communicator, able to engage and build genuine relationships with our customers, team player and a decisive thinker. You will work collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for our customers. Your drive to succeed will help you tackle even the most challenging tasks with an open mind and energy. Importantly, you will have a real connection to Regional Australia and the people and industries that support future growth.
What’s it like to work there?
We are a collaborative team of passionate people with a shared ambition to make a difference for our customers, our communities and each other. At Westpac, making a difference means creating impact, unlocking our own and each other’s passions, and transformative success stories to create better futures together.
As well as competitive remuneration and a great culture, joining the Westpac family gives you access to a wide range of employee benefits to help you manage your priorities - whether that means family life, work/life balance, ambition to grow or all the little perks in between.
We’ll empower you to shape your career path. Through personalised upskilling, mentoring, and training opportunities, you’re in control of where you start and how you’ll grow.
As an equal opportunity employer, we are proud to have created a culture and work environment that values diversity and flexibility – and champions inclusion.
