The Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) is the largest Veterinary hospital in the Southern Hemisphere offering referral services across multiple locations in Australia. Our Client Services team form an integral part of our vision to help pets and their families live their best life by delivering gold standard client service excellence in a bespoke, exciting, growing setting.

About the Role:
This is a reception position is like no other where no two days at SASH are the same. This position is permanent part-time, 3 days per week. The role includes and is not limited to:

  • Hosting the client experience, greeting of clients, and organising waiting room workflow. Team coordination, in varied reception spaces.
  • Management of high-volume email inbox, internal communication boards, and administration.
  • Coordination and booking varied appointments, hospital admissions and discharge appointments.
  • Liaison between clients and the clinical team
  • Handling of cash, EFTPOS and other payments including lending services
  • Processing insurance claims
  • Requesting patient history and records/ results, and other documents from third parties
  • Varied shifts, in varied reception spaces adding variety, including, and not limited to onsite contact centre/ phone shifts where needed.

About You:
This is a position that will be challenging and is not for the fainthearted. We are looking for someone who can bring a positive, engaging, and helpful attitude to the role and the team.

  • 2 years minimum in a similar, high volume receptionist position
  • Available to work weekends 
  • Proven ability to take initiative and prioritise tasks accordingly
  • Passionate about animals and providing customer service excellence excellent customer service
  • Empathic and resilient, bringing Interpersonal and emotional intelligence
  • Clear and professional communication
  • A reliable, committed work ethic being able to demonstrate a resilient attitude
  • Professional and polished
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a veterinary/medical(human) reception or similar administrative position
  • Previous experience in the use of EzyVet or similar booking systems
  • An understanding of medical terminology, medical health professional organisations and relevant stakeholders
