We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Systems Engineer within our Defence Delivery line of business supporting the Red Ochre Autonomy and Sensors team. You will be working with our Systems team on the MQ-28 Ghost Bat project where your contribution will ensure a systems orientated, integrated approach is taken with respect to the engineering development and verification activities. The MQ-28 Ghost Bat - is an affordable, semi autonomous uncrewed air vehicle that has been developed in a partnership with Boeing.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing system engineering activities including requirements management, candidate solution development, system design, system analysis, integration, acceptance tests and verification
  • Working within the BAE Systems product development principles and engineering processes to ensure all products and deliverables are of the highest quality, integrity and safety standards
  • Supporting customer and stakeholder engagement to understand the desired use cases and required function and performance requirements to support these use cases
  • Maintaining product & personnel safety as a paramount consideration during all stages of system design & subsequent testing and operation
  • Performing configuration and change management on developed work products
  • Supporting and assisting Team Leads in optimal achievement of scheduled work and risk identification

About YOU

You'll have:

  • An understanding of systems engineering processes as applied to the product lifecycle
  • Experience working with the systems engineering toolsets (e.g. DOORs, JIRA, Windchill)
  • Familiarity with MBSE and product development concepts and toolsets (eg CAMEO)(desirable)
  • Experience in Unmanned Systems development (desirable)
  • Knowledge of software development and certification concepts (desirable)
  • Adept at building and maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Qualifications satisfying the requirements for a member of the Institute of Engineers Australia or equivalent experience
  • Computer literacy, with intermediate knowledge of MS Suite. Familiarity with tools like SharePoint and Oracle (desirable)
