About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Engineer to join our team in Springfield Central, Queensland, or Richmond, New South Wales. As a member of our C-27J Capability Enhancement Team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of avionics/electrical modifications to the aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and approve various aircraft avionics/electrical and/or electronic system modifications
  • Hold and exercise engineering authority as a design engineer under NGA's military design organisation exposition
  • Apply systems engineering processes across the product lifecycle
  • Coordinate and support project management of tasks through the design development and installation phases
  • Provide advice to internal/external stakeholders and represent the enterprise on specific projects, technical issues, and in various intra-/inter-organisational meetings as required
  • Provide oversight and review work of other engineers for technical accuracy, adequacy, and quality
  • Investigate, report, and communicate engineering compliance issues

Requirements
  • Relevant engineering degree (avionics, electrical, mechatronics) or engineers Australia recognised equivalent
  • Eligible for registration with RPEQ
  • Demonstrated experience as a professional engineer in the Defence/Aviation industry
  • Working knowledge of configuration management and certification concepts
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Chartered engineer through engineers Australia (or similar)
  • Qualifications/certifications and/or working experience with systems engineering processes
  • Previous experience implementing avionics modifications/upgrades
  • Project management/engineering experience
