About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Campbells and Convenience as a Business Development Representative. The purpose of this position is to grow profitable sales with existing customers and develop new business within the One Wholesaler Convenience business within defined territory to achieve targeted business plans and sales revenue goals.
In this Role You Will be…
• Deliver sales budget within the defined territory to reach EBIT target
• Execute the state and national convenience sales strategy to achieve set objectives
• Maintain effective relationships internally and externally to deliver core partnership strategies for Wholesale
• Ensure all team members comply with and follow Safety and Food Safety policies and procedures and Adhere to all legislative COR, Food Safety and HACCP compliance regulations
• Manage and address all safety performance, safety compliance and injury management
• Execution of a territory customer call plan in line with the Wholesale strategy, ensuring sales are captured by the business in the most effective manner (e.g. web portal, telesales)
• Grow existing business through relationship management techniques and effective use of promotional campaigns, range reviews and new product development
• Regularly identifies new opportunities in territory, develops and actively gains new profitable business to build route density
• Maintain collaborative and effective relationships with key support roles and contacts eg Telesales, Customers Service and Store Operations teams to optimize service and sales opportunities.
You’re Likely a Match…
Industry experience, such as FMCG or related fields
Understanding in customer service, including managing calls and resolving complaints
Experience conducting sales conversations and negotiating sales agreements
Experience working to deadlines and adapting to changing priorities in a time-pressured environment
Experience using sales data and analytics to generate insights and influence decision-making
Experience creating internal reports using operational systems (e.g., Tableau)
Broad understanding of the Metcash business, including its structure, pillars, industry standing, key customers, strategic direction, and service and commercial model
Understanding of Metcash systems and processes
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams)
