About the role
We have an exciting Perth based opportunity for a State Sales Manager to take the next step in their career within our Protective Coatings team. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for implementing the business strategy and delivering profitable revenue growth within the Perth region. Critical to your success in the role will be your ability to lead, coach, develop and motivate a team of technical sales and specifications professionals to deliver the sales targets for the state.
To be considered for this integral leadership position you will be known for your strategic thinking and natural ability to influence. You will have a passion for ownership; be motivated by developing a team; and can manage and develop professional relationships both internally and externally. You will be skilled at problem solving, dealing with complexity and have a proven ability to motivate a team to deliver results.
Excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive approach will also put you in good stead, and your experience will provide you with a strong understanding of coatings, preferably protective coatings, as well as a confidence working within this area.

Responsibilities
- Manage sales team performance through clear targets, ongoing measurement and coaching and development
- Ongoing review of market and new customer opportunities outside of existing customer base
- Drive implementation of national, regional and account specific field activities
- Promote and support planning for the field force to be more effective at executing objectives

Skills & Experience
- Previous sales leadership and people management experience
- Background in coatings or protective coatings highly beneficial
- Expertise in developing sales strategies and evaluating team performance
