Airline Account Manager

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

This is a key strategic commercial role in the South Pacific, and broader Amadeus business. This role has responsibility for leading several Extended Account Teams, to ensure Amadeus meets it’s obligations to multiple high profile South Pacific airline clients, and to internal stakeholders.

Additionally, this role is responsible for building networks and active acquisition activities to grow our customer base. This role is also located in Brisbane. but could also be located in Sydney. The incumbent is required to represent Amadeus, and at times present, at Amadeus and industry events, and to proactively create business networks. Travel is required domestically and regionally on a monthly basis, outside of our region approximately twice per year.

The right candidate needs to show broad commercial and strategic skills, strong resilience, and developed emotional intelligence to engage with and influence multiple stakeholder groups internally and externally. A high level of professionalism, ability to self-manage, and excellent communication skills are required.

Key Accountabilities:

- Deliver Current Business Performance:

  • Lead the dedicated airline Extended Account Teams assigned to your carriers/accounts – and influence internally, to achieve mutually important business outcomes for our clients, and Amadeus within agreed contractual and budget parameters.

  • Key day to day responsibilities include strategy, governance, negotiation, commercial contribution to project streams, coordination of regional subject matter experts and the mobilization of global resources if required to achieve objectives.

- Foster Operational Excellence:

  • Take ownership of multiyear Strategic Account Plan, by ensuring a comprehensive understanding of client’s objectives, and aligning these with Amadeus capability & strategy.

  • Coordinate the contractual renegotiations of accounts.

  • Contribute to Regional task forces/teams.

  • Participation/presenting at industry events, the proactive sharing of relevant Amadeus insights and linking our clients to leadership to develop C-Level relationships.

  • Individually represent Amadeus at Brisbane/Queensland industry events as required.

- Contribute to Cross Functional Performance:

  • Through the Strategic Account Plan process – identify Airline customer needs which could met by adjacent Amadeus Business Units.

  • Partner with local commercial teams from Amadeus “Eco System” partner organizations, to build new incremental value propositions for our mutual customers.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • Proven experience in achieving agreed sales target, though a consultative selling approach.

  • Experience in Sales or Account management preferably in Airline and/or Travel Industry, or a SaaS provider

  • Preferably, well-developed functional knowledge of airline IT, distribution and e-Commerce operations IT and GDS knowledge and/or experience

  • Ability to manage customer relationships and provide a high level of customer support.

  • Project Management skills

  • Ability to define and resolve problems quickly and effectively.

  • Organized and process orientated. Ability to operate at a strategic level.

  • Self-motivation and a high level of commitment. Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Effective people management skills. Maturity of thought and process, diplomacy and a high level or relationship/people skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage self in an unstructured environment.

  • Must be available for interstate and international travel for Business.

  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Effective product and service presentation skills.
