About the role

As a Business Development Manager for Porter’s, you will be responsible for sourcing and securing profitable sales growth for Porter’s Paints in trade channels across Queensland

Reporting to the Porter’s Sales & Marketing Manager, this role focuses on building partnerships with architects, builders, and commercial painters to ensure that Porter’s products are specified and that these specifications are maintained through to project completion. You will also proactively target competitor specifications

Additionally, this role involves operating across the state’s trade network and influencing key stakeholders, such as our Trade Stores and Commercial Team, to benefit both Porter’s Paints and DuluxGroup.

Responsibilities

Identify and develop opportunities to increase sales in your territory Manage projects from specification to bid stage, working with architects, builders, and painting contractors Create tailored coating specifications that are technically accurate and suitable for property conditions Write and develop valuable project specifications Build relationships with key industry bodies and professional networks to gather market intelligence, create specification opportunities, and engage contractors

Skills & Experience

Proven background in sales, business development, and/or account management, preferably within the specification, commercial construction, or commercial painting sectors Strong research skills with the ability to analyze market trends and identify opportunities Experience using CRM systems for analysis, reporting, and planning, with a deep understanding of leveraging data to drive business outcomes Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of working effectively across various organizational levels A collaborative team player with strong self-management abilities
