Are you passionate about safety and ready to make an impact? As a safety advisor you will lead safety initiatives and support the Site Leadership Team in enhancing EHS practices. You'll also manage on-site injuries and play a key role in promoting safety through audits, discussions, and hands-on engagement across our operations. This position will be based in North Queensland's Burdekin region, known for its stunning landscapes, rich agricultural heritage, and a vibrant community. The Burdekin region offers a fantastic lifestyle with a warm climate, beautiful beaches and a range of recreational activities, making it a great place to live and work.

Your Role in Action

  • Lead Safety Meetings: Take charge of coordinating our Safety Committee team meetings, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed.
  • Own the Safety Plan: Manage, review, and monitor our Safety Plan, ensuring clear communication and execution across the site.
  • Audit for Excellence: Conduct weekly and monthly safety audits, providing key insights and outputs to management for continuous improvement.
  • Support Rehabilitation: Serve as the Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator, managing injured workers and guiding their recovery process at Inkerman Mill.
  • Work Cover Management: Oversee all Work Cover matters on-site, ensuring smooth coordination and compliance.
  • Drive Incident Investigations: Lead thorough incident investigations and ensure follow-up actions are completed to prevent future occurrences.
  • Report and Correct: Handle incident reports and maintain the Corrective Action register to keep safety standards top-notch.

The successful applicant

We're seeking an individual with a strong commitment to safety, demonstrated through prior professional experiences. You will possess excellent communication skills, particularly in building relationships with external stakeholders such as Workplace Health and Safety Inspectors and Emergency Response Personnel. Proficiency in creating clear, structured documents and the ability to integrate well within a team are crucial. Qualifications include industry certification in Occupational Health and Safety, credentials in Training & Assessing, and preferably prior experience in a related role within manufacturing or construction.
