About the role

An exciting, newly created role exists for a highly motivated Speech Pathologist to join our LifeWorks service in the Cairns clinic. This is a chance to be part of something exciting, to grow with our organisation and to be a part of a collaborative, energetic, multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring clients receive tailored Speech Therapy services that are individualised, person-centred  and strength based in line with the values of our service delivery model.
  • Providing a high standard of service for clients with both communication needs and dysphagia management / mealtime management needs.
  • Collaborating and being a part of an allied health multidisciplinary team
  • Working with a varied caseload of adult clients aged 16 years and over
  • Maintaining awareness of current NDIS legislation to ensure compliance
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and staying up to date with latest research and treatment techniques

About you..

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Speech Pathologist who is looking for a new challenge. This is an opportunity for you to make a positive impact in our client lives and would suit someone who is client focussed and passionate about making a difference.

Essential Criteria: 

  • Registration with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
  • Tertiary level qualifications in Speech Therapy
  • Proven experience working as a Speech Pathologist
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Strong commitment and professionalism to customer centred care
  • Highly motivated and a positive attitude
  • Working with children check (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Screen (or willing to obtain one is essential)
  • Current driver’s license
