Glencoe Primary School (PS) is seeking motivated School Psychologist to join their friendly team.
To be successful for this role you will ideally have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will be able to collaborate and work effectively with our leadership team, students, and parents.
The successful applicant will ideally be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, consult widely, and able to work effectively as both part of a team and independently when required.
The successful applicant will ideally collaborate closely with school leadership and the Student Services team. They will join a community of motivated and innovative educators committed to ensuring the wellbeing and educational outcomes of students.
About the school
Established in 1981, Glencoe PS is located in the coastal suburb of Halls Head in close proximity to the City of Mandurah and is 75 kilometres south of Perth situated between the Indian Ocean and the Peel Inlet. Our current enrolment for the 2024 school year is over 410 students.
Glencoe PS Staff are committed to improving educational outcomes for all students and deliver a high-quality educational program to children from Kindergarten to Year 6.
The school specialist programs include Science, Physical Education, Visual Arts and Performing Arts. Further special programs including, Horseback Riding and Rainbows which add value to the curriculum. A current pastoral care program is provided to our students. This incorporates an emphasis on social learning and values.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
Ability to implement school psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximise student learning outcomes. Knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention. High level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills. Highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts. Ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.Applications will be assessed against these work related requirements (selection criteria) of the position.
