Tuart Rise Primary School is seeking a Teacher – Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) to join their team.

The role of the Learning Support Coordinator is to provide direct and indirect support for students with diagnosed and imputed disability. It is highly desirable the successful applicant will be able to promote an inclusive educational environment that provides additional support for individual student and their learning needs. The applicant will also consult and collaborate with classroom teachers to empower them in the planning and delivery of effective teaching and learning programs for identified students,and will facilitate modifications and adaptions to the regular curriculum and/or learning environment in collaboration with classroom teachers.

Consult and collaborate with teachers in creating and implementing SEN documented plans, managing and insuring compliance for Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD). You would also assist with coordinating and conducting meetings of parents, teachers, and support agencies for student with specific learning needs.

In addition, you will complete funding applications for students identified with special needs and other relevant compliance documentation. The successful applicant will also provide information and support for teachers which may be available from other service providers, including Disability Schools Resourcing, Visiting Teachers, Assistive Technology and working with external agencies.

The applicant will assist with coordinating therapist sessions during school hours and be responsible for the development of teachers working with identified students that require a significant level of differentiated educational delivery through Ability Based Learning Education, Western Australia (ABLEWA) and School of Special Educational Needs (SSEN) reporting as well as through an inclusive integrated curriculum delivery model.

The LSC with also work with the school psychologist in scheduling and leading case management meetings and maintain notes and sending to relevant stakeholders.

It is highly desirable the successful applicant will have the following Skills and knowledge;

Knowledge of Schools Resourcing application process and requirements; Ability to have difficult conversations with staff, students and parents; Developed knowledge of best practice teaching and learning strategies for students with identified learning difficulties both diagnosed and imputed.

The successful applicant will be a positive and innovative instructional leader with the ability to inspire and deliver initiative and strategies that develop capacity within teachers and education assistants and promote staff collaboration to improve student learning.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
