Join our supportive team committed to enhancing the oral health of public-school students. We're looking for an experienced Oral Health Therapist or Dental Therapist to join our dynamic team of Lead Regional OHTs and DAs, playing a vital role in the success of Smile Squad, our free school dental program. 

Reporting directly to the DHSV Smile Squad regional coordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in leading and mentoring Smile Squad OHTs, alongside supervising Bachelor of Oral Health students during their placements. 

We're looking for an experienced OHT passionate about mentoring the next generation. Whether you're in private or public practice, seeking a new challenge or considering part-time work, this opportunity is for you. Joining us means access to extensive professional development and personalised support from our team of Directors, Oral Health Advisors, and clinical leaders.

Some duties to expect: 

  • Collaborate with Dental Agencies in your region to enhance the efficiency of their Oral Health Therapist teams 
  • Mentor and provide support to existing OHTs and OHT students as they deliver dental care to school students 
  • Identify and address knowledge gaps within the OHT workforce through targeted professional development initiatives 
  • Travel to various agencies during work hours, utilising the Smile Squad vehicle for transportation 
  • Maintain up-to-date clinical skills by occasionally participating in chairside duties 

A bit about you: 

  • Experience in teaching, student supervision and mentoring – highly regarded 
  • AHPRA Registered Oral Health Therapist/Dental Therapist/Dentist 
  • Holds a Victorian driver’s license and Working with Children Check 
  • Clinically adept in evidence-based practice, particularly with children 
  • Demonstrates outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Experienced dentist open to contributing to public oral health or seeking a change of environment
