We are looking for a passionate and hardworking **Communication and Engagement Specialist **to join our team at Singleton Council on a temporary basis. **THE ROLE**

We are looking for a temporary Communication and Engagement Specialist to provide a range of communication, public relations and engagement services for Singleton Council including developing communication and engagement plans, managing social media, digital platforms and internal communications.

The following is essential to succeed in this role:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in communications or a related discipline and demonstrated experience in professional communications or newsroom environment.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing communications campaigns for both internal and external audiences.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of the modern communications landscape, including existing and emerging technologies, social media and related analytics.
- Experience in website content management.

Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills is also a must.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Developing communication and engagement plans, and preparing time-sensitive written materials to promote Council activities, programs, and events
- Generating story ideas, writing and editing content for delivery across traditional and digital platforms
- Working collaboratively to identify, research, assist and manage media around council issues and opportunities, and risks relating to organisation's brand, reputation and relationships
- Monitoring and developing content for social media and digital platforms
- Collaboration with internal customers to develop and deliver internal communications plans, initiatives, and collateral across a range of internal communications channels
- Managing Council's social media and digital communications profile and presence in accordance with the Council's Brand and Communications Strategy
- Project managing the ongoing maintenance and redevelopment of the website and intranet, and provide advice to the organisation on user-friendly and on-brand content
- Providing advice on production of multimedia content

This position is offered on a full-time, temporary basis for a period of 9 months working 35 hours per week.

Remuneration for the position is based on Grade 12 of the salary system which equates to a base salary between $83,384 to $93,795 per year plus superannuation.
