We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Engagement Officer to join our team at The Bridge (AOD Hub) servicing Singleton, Maitland, Kurri, Cessnock and surrounds.

The Bridge provides specialist AOD services to reduce the harm related to alcohol and other drug use and to improve the health, wellbeing and social outcomes of young people, pregnant people and parents with young children. The hub is based in Singleton.

This role gives you an opportunity to work collaboratively with young people, their families, local community and other agencies to increase the capacity of young people and their community to connect with appropriate health and wellbeing supports and services.

The key responsibilities of this role will be the implementation of our Youth Health Promotion Program including developing resources and delivering workshops in schools.

We are looking for an experienced Youth Engagement Officer:

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or experience in a community or youth engagement, health promotion, public health or community engagement and/or capacity building activities
- Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral) with the ability to engage and communicate sensitively and effectively with young people, schools, and community services and groups., Demonstrated understanding of AOD and mental health and their impacts on young people, their families and communities
- Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating communication and engagement strategies within allocated budgets
- Demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of young people from a range of social and cultural backgrounds and with diverse gender and sexual identities
- Demonstrated well-developed organisational, time management and administrative skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
