About the role:
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable team player to join Unitywater in a 6-month backfill role, with the potential for extension or a permanent opportunity at the end of the term.
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable team player to join Unitywater in a 6-month backfill role, with the potential for extension or a permanent opportunity at the end of the term.Based at our Southern Service Centre in Morayfield, this is a fantastic opportunity to expand your skills, gain valuable experience, and be part of an inclusive, high-performing team at a leading utilities provider.
As a Crew Leader within our Private Works team, you will lead a crew in delivering construction and maintenance activities, including:
Pipe laying and infrastructure connections.
Modifications and replacements of manholes, valve pits, and other key assets.
Overseeing traffic and environmental management plans and site controls.

Ability to lead a crew to undertake construction and maintenance
Proven ability to lead crews in construction and maintenance activities, including mentoring and providing on-the-job training.

Skilled in excavation and trenching, pipe laying, slinging and lifting loads, working around services, cable location, de-watering, and traffic management.
Strong focus on safety, with demonstrated experience in visible safety leadership, hazard assessment, and control measures in line with Safe Work Method Statements.
Extensive experience in pipe laying for water and sewer infrastructure, as well as installing metered water connections.
Sound understanding of hygiene standards when working with potable water.
Holder of a current open C Class Driver's Licence.
Proficient in reading and interpreting plans.
Knowledge of Unitywater systems and processes (Maximo, EzMax, Unimap, and risk assessment processes), or the ability to quickly learn new systems.
