Housing Australia sits within the Treasury portfolio and is governed by a Board of non-executive directors appointed by the Minister for Housing.Housing Australia administers several government programs, including the Housing Australia Future Fund Facility, National Housing Accord Facility, Affordable Housing Bond Aggregator, National Housing Infrastructure Facility and Home Guarantee Scheme.
Housing Australia delivers on its objective of improving housing outcomes by providing grants, loans and other support to increase the supply of housing, encouraging investment in housing, providing finance or grants that support housing programs within other areas of government, increasing the capability of the community housing sector and assisting individuals to access the housing market earlier.Home | Housing AustraliaAbout the roleThe Associate Director, Commercial reports to the Director, Housing Programs and will support various commercial, financial, transactional and governance related matters over the multiple competitive funding rounds of the HAFFF, NHAF and other programs as they arise.Key responsibilitiesWork collaboratively, cooperatively and inquisitively with the Housing Programs team, internal stakeholders (in particular, AHBA, NHIF, Legal, Risk and Compliance, and Strategy & Operations teams) and external advisors in the preparation, negotiation, review and finalisation of: market facing tender, internal evaluation, internal governance, and full form contract documentationLead (from time to time) and support the preparation, assessment and evaluation and finalisation of recommendations and reports for funding roundsLead (from time to time) and support transaction process strategies, commercial structuring, contract negotiations, and other ad hoc qualitative and quantitative analysisLead the Commercial team's transaction management tasks as they relate to complex and voluminous applications for HAFFF and NHAF funding, as well as other programs as they ariseLead (from time to time), manage and support engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including the end-to-end procurement and engagement of external advisorsBuild and strengthen relationships throughout Housing Australia and the residential real estate industrySkills and experienceRelevant tertiary qualifications in one or more of the following fields: Property, Commerce, Law, Finance, Economics, or related discipline5-7 years relevant experienceStrong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to review and interpret various financial models, assess impacts and risks, and make sound recommendationsExcellent listening, communication (oral and written), presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interface between Housing Australia's internal teams and also external stakeholdersEnergetic, self-motivated and ability to demonstrate sound commercial acumen in line with Housing Australia's values (Respect, Trust and Integrity, One Team and Excellence)Track record of successfully managing complex projects through to completion, with an execution orientated mindset and strong passion for business improvementAdvanced business writing skills for presentation to an executive audience, including Board levelRelevant experience in corporate advisory (investment banking, consulting, etc), property, infrastructure/construction and/or governmentWe would love to hear from you.
