Housing Australia (formerly named the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation) is the Commonwealth's independent housing authority, established as a corporate Commonwealth entity in 2018 under the Housing Australia Act to improve housing outcomes for Australians. Housing Australia sits within the Treasury portfolio and is governed by a Board of non-executive directors appointed by the Minister for Housing.

Housing Australia administers several government programs, including the Housing Australia Future Fund Facility, National Housing Accord Facility, Affordable Housing Bond Aggregator, National Housing Infrastructure Facility and Home Guarantee Scheme. Housing Australia delivers on its objective of improving housing outcomes by providing grants, loans and other support to increase the supply of housing, encouraging investment in housing, providing finance or grants that support housing programs within other areas of government, increasing the capability of the community housing sector and assisting individuals to access the housing market earlier. About the role

Reporting to the Director, Program Implementation, the Manager, Execution is responsible for delivering deal execution within the Housing Programs team for Housing Australia's HAFFF/NHAF program, working collaboratively with the commercial team, risk, legal, and other internal stakeholders to support deal closure.

Key responsibilities

Manage commercial contracts to financial close by ensuring each condition precedent has been met by the recipient to the satisfaction of Housing Australia:

• manage the execution process for lending transactions, ensuring seamless and superior outcomes
• collaborate with Commercial Managers, Legal Counsel, Risk, and Treasury to provide vital transactional support
• co-ordinate transactions involving complex deal structures (including multi-layered capital structures) to financial close and settlement which includes involvement in negotiation, documentation and addressing all conditions precedent/subsequent and security matters
• ensure clear audit trail of decisions
• manage risk approvals for waivers or variations
• proactively engage with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure alignment and deal execution success
• contribute to continuous improvement
• stay updated on entity-wide risk policies and contribute to governance, reporting and data quality requirements of our lending portfolio

Skills and experience

• 3-5 years' experience in financial close that involved aspects such as debt & equity structuring, legal negotiation, and base rate setting within property or infrastructure finance products
• strong understanding of finance agreements and loan documentation, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
• organised and proactive approach to work, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing competing priorities
• solutions focussed with the ability to identify and assess potential risks in transactions, and address and resolve issues with appropriate stakeholders
• A focus on efficient and effective social outcomes
• excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• strong relationship management skills
• superior written, verbal, and negotiation skills
• relevant tertiary qualifications including Law, Accounting, Business or Finance
