Senior Executive Service Band 1, Non-ongoing
- Brisbane
The Australian Government is investing in flood warning infrastructure in Australia's highest flood risk areas.
Investment of >$230 million over the next 10 years will enable the Bureau to simplify ownership and maintenance of high-priority flood warning assets by acquiring, upgrading and integrating more than 1,500 key local government-owned, and some state government-owned, rain and river level gauges in high-priority areas into its existing flood warning network across Australia.
The Bureau seeks a high-performing General Manager to form and lead the team that will design and implement the Flood Warning Infrastructure Network (FWIN) Program. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to and shape the work of the Bureau of Meteorology and the emergency response capacity of the nation.
