Job Title: Water Modelling Specialist

Flood modelling and surface water engineering play a crucial role in shaping the future of transport infrastructure. As a Water Modelling Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that make a real impact.

The successful candidate will lead and deliver surface water modelling for major transport infrastructure projects, undertaking flood impact assessments, waterway assessments, and surface water modelling. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate flood modelling and drainage design into large-scale infrastructure planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead surface water modelling for major transport infrastructure projects
  • Undertake flood impact assessments, waterway assessments, and surface water modelling
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate flood modelling and drainage design into large-scale infrastructure planning
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and manage project deliverables
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, future-focused team culture
  • Support proposal development and contribute to business growth across Queensland

Requirements:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • At least 10 years' experience in flood modelling and surface water engineering for transport infrastructure
  • Demonstrated proficiency in tools like TUFLOW, WBNM, RORB, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS, 12D, DRAINS, MUSIC, and QGIS platforms
  • Strong knowledge of ARR, TMR standards, and Austroads guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • RPEQ or eligible to apply for it
