Experience in a similar role with Italian cuisine is preferred, but we're willing to train the right applicant who's ready to step up into this position.
You'll be working a mix of day and night shifts, so weekend availability and flexibility with rostering are essential.
However, we do promote a flexible working environment.
No breakfast shifts and not too many late nights.Located: Mort St, BraddonFood type: Modern Italian, local seasonal menu, specials changing each weekVibe: casual fine dining in a laid-back environment, Italian rustic ambianceCapacity: 40-60pax – no double seating'sOpening time: Dinner - Monday to Saturday; Lunch - Tuesday to SaturdayWe're seeking a friendly and hard working Sous Chef with experience in a fast paced restaurant scene, who will:Deliver high-quality dishes with exceptional preparation, production, and presentation.Is passionate about the Canberra food and beverage scene.Ensure consistency and quality across all menu items.Work independently while contributing to team goals.Collaborate with the Executive Chef to mentor and train junior kitchen staff.Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization, adhering to the highest standards.Support the Executive Chef in menu creation, food production, and portion control.Contribute to stock control, rotation, and accurate recording of deliveries.Assist in budgeting, planning, and margin reviews.Promote positive relationships with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent guest experiences.Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Food Safety regulations.Ensure the proper maintenance and safe operation of all kitchen equipment.
