Job Description and Purpose
As a seasoned underwriting professional, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating and managing new and existing business portfolios within established guidelines and service standards. Your expertise will also be instrumental in mentoring and developing junior underwriters, ensuring they meet the required performance metrics.
Primary Responsibilities
Evaluate and approve insurance applications based on company policy and underwriting standards.
Analyze portfolio performance and implement strategies to optimize credit control.
Participate in audits and peer review processes to maintain compliance with industry regulations.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation and adherence to organizational guidelines.
Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance underwriting opportunities, reduce expenses, and achieve operational targets.
Underwrite property products in accordance with Arch guidelines to ensure profitability and contribute positively to tangible book value.
Maintain and develop key broker relationships through regular visitation and exceptional customer service.
Provide timely service of requests and manage tasks efficiently.
Develop and execute new business initiatives by interacting with brokers, identifying cross-selling opportunities, and working with senior management to launch new products.
Assist in implementing distribution strategies across profit centers and identify potential growth areas.
Comply with relevant laws, regulations, industry codes, and organizational standards.
Senior Team Member Responsibilities
Support managers in supervising team members, providing training, guidance, and feedback.
Oversee work of junior roles and collaborate with managers to achieve goals.
General Responsibilities
Collaborate effectively with other business units.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, local guidance, and legislation.
