Job DescriptionWe have a newly created role of Business Improvement Principal, reporting to the Commercial Managerbased on site at Poitrel Mine.
As Business Improvement Principal you will lead the site business improvement process to successfully deliver outstanding and sustained operational outcomes.
Specifically, you will:Improvement & ProjectsLead the use of a standardised set of BI processes, tools and systems.Work with relevant site stakeholders to develop and prioritise the site's Continuous Improvement (CI) project pipeline.Identify and deliver initiatives that reduce cost, increase productivity, and improve safety outcomes.Establish streamlined BI projects progress reports.Maintain documentation, project registers, and change management recordsFacilitate root cause analysis and problem-solving workshops (e.g. RCA, 5 Whys, Lean Six Sigma).
Support automation, digitalisation, and process optimisation initiatives.Data & Performance AnalysisProvide overarching governance on the integrity and completeness of site operational data.Analyse operational, maintenance, and financial data to identify improvement opportunities.Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance trends across Production, CHPP (coal handling prep plant), Maintenance and support services.Facilitate the development of reports using PowerBI and other tools to meet business requirementsStakeholder EngagementCollaborate with frontline leaders, superintendents, and department managers to ensure improvement projects are practical and embedded.Facilitate workshops and training to build a culture of continuous improvement.Be an active member of a small and dynamic BI team across Stanmore and work closely with the Group Principal Business Improvement.QualificationsTo be successful, you will have:Tertiary qualifications in engineering or business-related discipline, or substantial technical experienceDemonstrated operational and business improvement experience with a proven track record of delivering improvement initiatives Experience leading change programs, managing stakeholders and work-streamsA strong ability to influence across all levels of the businessMining experience preferred (but not essential)Good working knowledge of different IT systems such as MS Office products, business intelligence tools, statistical tools such as minitab, simulation tools and other mine operating systems such as historians and delay accounting systems would be very beneficialLean Six Sigma Black Belt accredited or prepared to undertake (we will support you)Additional InformationOur Benefits:Monday-Friday site-based role with potential for flexible working arrangementsAttractive salary plus bonusIndustry leading parental leave policyInterested?
