The Principal Quality and Improvement Officer leads strategic initiatives to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and consistency of the Office of the Health Ombudsman processes, services and performance.

The role is pivotal in developing and implementing quality frameworks, driving continuous improvement activities and supporting compliance with legislative, regulatory and complaints standards to ensure the delivery of the OHO's services in accordance with the OHO's values and strategic objectives.

In This Role You Will

  • Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of quality frameworks, systems and methodologies across the office.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of operational data, feedback surveys, complaints about the OHO, external reviews, audits and performance metrics to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and oversee internal quality reviews and facilitate implementation of recommendations to ensure consistent practice and compliance and ensure learnings are translated into opportunities for quality improvements.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders to support change management and process redesign initiatives.
  • Identify operational and strategic risk and risk mitigation strategies and brief the Executive Director as issues arise.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, briefings and submissions for Executive and external stakeholders, including parliamentary bodies and regulatory agencies.
