A successful fitout company with a strong reputation for providing professional service and quality work, our client is now seeking an experienced Estimator or potentially Senior Estimator to join their growing business.
With a project portfolio that includes both small and large scale fit-outs (circa $100k to $15m+) for their clients, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and on time building estimation services to ensure tenders are competitive, low risk propositions, as well as supporting the project team to ensure variations are priced accurately.
You will be actively involved in fitout / refurbishment across a range of sectors which include Commercial, Retail, Education and Hospitality to name a few.
You will have a proven history in the local market.
Must be an autonomous Estimator with the ability to manage the whole process from client brief to tender submission and have the ability to attend tender interviews if required.
Must also have an in-depth understanding of construction methodology, trade scopes and estimating principles coupled with strong communication, interpersonal and rapport building skills.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:Preparation and submission of tendersEvaluate / review tender and estimating process for cost effectivenessTender negotiationsAttending tendering interviewsCoordinate tender handover to project teamPrepare budgets based on tender submissionAssess and price contract variation ordersLiaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants
Qualifications and Requirements:Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering or similarMinimum 5 years post graduate experience in D&B commercial fit-out/refurb estimatingProven ability to tender on multiple projects simultaneouslyAble to read and understand plansWell-developed interpersonal skills with a strong client and subcontractor focusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAble to work within a team as well as autonomouslyExcellent organisation and time management skillsExperience with Jobpac, Cubit and Buildsoft software's would be advantageousExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
