Lead Commercial Fit Out Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of diverse commercial fit-out projects in Sydney.

  • Responsibilities will include managing the project lifecycle from inception to completion with a strong emphasis on contractual integrity and project control.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for proactive management of critical construction contract elements to mitigate risks and ensure successful delivery.
  • Up to 2-3 projects worth up to $5M will be managed simultaneously, with a Contract Administrator and Site Managers reporting to you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meticulous review and management of the defined scope of work to prevent scope creep and variations.
  • Developing, monitoring, and adhering to realistic project timelines with key milestones and completion dates.
  • Oversight of all financial aspects of the project, including budgeting, cost control, and managing payment schedules.
  • Identification and assessment of project risks, including indemnification and insurance, and effective management of liabilities.
  • Fostering clear communication channels with stakeholders and addressing potential disputes through contract provisions for mediation or arbitration.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Project Manager in commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects in Sydney.
  • Demonstrable expertise in reviewing and managing construction contracts with a strong understanding of clauses related to scope, time, cost, risk, and dispute resolution.
  • Able to create a construction program from scratch using MS Projects.
  • Excellent technical construction knowledge and a solid grasp of M&E services.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and building permits.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ideal proficiency in Integrated Construction Management software such as Procore, Cheops/Jobpac/Buildlogic and Hammertech/1Breadcrumb, although training can be provided.
