**The Role**

The **Testing and Release Manager** is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing testing and release activities across all projects that drive organisational growth, efficiency, and innovation. This role supports the business / delivery / transformation teams to deliver high quality outcomes across all projects. By embedding robust test management and release practices, this role ensures that Southern cross care delivery aspirations are executed with precision, efficiency, and measurable outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- ** Test & release governance**: Develop and implement a Test governance & Release governance strategy that aligns with Delivery governance. Administration, monitoring and reporting of testing in line with testing governance. Reporting of testing & release progress through the project delivery lifecycle
- **Test management**: Provide direction and hands on support to the project managers and product owners for Test delivery, monitoring and reporting, ensuring projects testing framework align with organisational objectives (eg: Creation of testing artefacts in line with delivery framework including testing scripts)
- **Release Management**: Develop and manage release schedules, working closely with teams to ensure seamless deployments with mínimal disruption
- ** Project / Program Support**: Support the Head of delivery and Data governance, project managers in all phases of delivery including test planning, resource allocation, and RAID management to enable successful execution of testing and Releases.
- ** Continuous Improvement**: Evaluate project / program performance metrics and guide continuous improvement efforts to ensure projects add value to the organisation.
- **Security, Privacy, risk, and compliance**: Ensure compliance with Australian security, privacy laws and industry standards, while implementing robust test delivery & release standards
- **Stakeholder engagement and collaboration**: Build and maintain strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with delivery governance and project goals. Act as a bridge between technology, Vendors development teams, delivery and business teams to ensure smooth communication and alignment on releases
- **Change management and cultural shift**: Support delivery teams to embed change practices into the organisation's culture, fostering literacy and awareness. Ensure testing is embedded in CI/CD pipelines, supporting automated and manual testing approaches to maintain delivery speed and quality
- **Risks & Issues Management**:Identify testing and release risks, assess their impact, and work proactively with stakeholders to mitigate issues before deployment. Oversee post-release testing, validate production deployments, and monitor system performance for early issue detection
- **Environment Management**:Manage test and pre-production environments, ensuring proper setup, version control, and availability for testing and deployment
- **Test / Release governance**: Ability to develop and implement test and release governance that aligns with the delivery governance.
- **Collaborative leadership**: Skilled in building strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive cross-functional collaboration.
- **Test Delivery + Release Expertise**: Comprehensive knowledge of test delivery & release frameworks
- **Analytical thinking**: Ability to leverage insights from testing and release cycles to inform strategic decisions and improve delivery performance.
- **Risk management skills**: Experience in identifying, mitigating, and managing testing & release risks associated with delivery.
- **Communication skills**: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage and influence diverse stakeholders across the organisation.

**Essential**
- ISTQB certification or similar
- Knowledge of Test Management tools (Jira/HP ALM etc)
- Knowledge of Automation Tools
- Demonstrated expertise in Testing delivery (agile and waterfall)
- Experience leading testing teams and managing test governance

**Desirable**
- Familarity with the not-for profit or purpose-driven sector
- Knowledge of security frameworks and technology-driven governance tools
- Experience in release governance
