LTD. requires a skilled and experienced Pastry Cook to join the team on a full-time basis.
This role is vital to maintaining the café's daily production of pastries, cakes, and desserts while ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, tarts, and desserts to meet daily service requirements and special ordersAccurately measure, mix, and prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and creams to achieve consistent product qualityOperate and maintain pastry equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofing cabinets to ensure efficient productionDecorate and finish baked products using glazes, icings, and other techniques to enhance appearance and maintain brand standardsMonitor the taste, texture, and presentation of products to ensure they meet quality expectations and customer satisfactionOrganise production schedules and workflow to meet deadlines, special events, and seasonal demandCheck ingredient freshness, manage stock rotation, and store ingredients properly in line with food safety standardsMaintain cleanliness and hygiene in the pastry section in compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety regulationsAssist in training and guiding junior kitchen assistants or pastry staff as neededSkills & Experience RequiredAt least 2 years' experience as a pastry cook or in a similar commercial baking environmentCertificate III in Patisserie or equivalent formal qualificationSound knowledge of pastry and dessert preparation techniquesCompetence in food handling, storage, and kitchen safety proceduresAbility to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a small teamStrong attention to detail, time management, and creative presentation skills
