**About the Role**
They are currently seeking a highly professional Return to Work Officer with Workers Compensation Complex Claims experience to join their team in Rozelle. This is an estimated 8-month temporary assignment.

**Responsibilities**
- Partner with stakeholders to support the rehabilitation of injured workers following their workplace injury
- Work in consultation with nominated treating doctor and other treating professionals, scheme agent, accredited rehabilitation provider and union representative
- Develop, monitor and review Recovery at Work plan with interventions and upgrades
- Consult, develop, review and advise all facets of injured workers return to work and rehabilitation programs to ensure all stakeholders are well-informed whilst measurably reducing claim duration and improving outcomes for employees
- Provide expertise and guidance to injured workers and their employer on injury management issues, recover at work and legislative requirements
- Collaborate with icare for NSW scheme agent to proactively manage Workers Compensation claims
- Educate Managers to ensure they are proactive participants in supporting the rehabilitation of their workers
- Assist the team in management of non-work related injuries/illnesses
- Track, monitor and report on trends and issues, mitigating risks
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and best practice

**About You**
- Previous WHS or Return to Work experience
- Proven understanding and experience in managing complex work cover claims
- Impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently with a strong team and task focus
- Professional and resilient
- Solid negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS office suite

**Requirements**:

- WorkCover accreditation - Return to Work Coordinator Certification
- Thorough understanding of the Workers Compensation Act 1987, Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1988, WHS Act 2011 and WHS Regulations 2011
- Valid Drivers licence and willingness to travel throughout Metropolitan Sydney and Regional NSW
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
- Fully COVID vaccinated or medically exempt
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
