Job Overview
The Transport Operations Manager is a key position responsible for overseeing the supervision of transport operations to ensure optimal fleet utilization and timely delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage the allocation of trailer assets to maximize fleet efficiency and minimize downtime.
Collaborate with dispatch teams to achieve high service levels while implementing cost-saving initiatives.
Delve exceptional customer satisfaction outcomes by meeting or exceeding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Ensure seamless execution of ad-hoc and special events store deliveries, working closely with stakeholders to address any obstructions.
Maintain strict compliance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
Foster effective collaboration between departments, including DC and 3PL teams, to communicate updates on obstacles and non-compliance issues.
Implement and monitor Chain of Responsibility safety protocols.
Requirements:
Proven leadership skills with experience in supervising transport operations, ideally with a focus on allocator/fleet scheduler roles.
Comprehensive understanding of transport operations, including logistics and supply chain management.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
A proven track record of people leadership, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, working under pressure to meet deadlines.
In-depth knowledge of local road networks, including metropolitan areas and suburbs.
Flexibility to work weekends as required.
