What You'll Be Doing

As our Transport Allocator, you'll play a key role in keeping our Sydney operations running smoothly. Your day will include:

  • Planning local delivery routes and allocating trucks, trailers, and drivers.
  • Coordinating and optimising local container transport activities.
  • Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, unpack and container de-hire.
  • Coordinating linehaul arrivals with outbound local deliveries.
  • Managing daily schedules and dispatching loads with efficiency and urgency.
  • Communicating with drivers, customers, and internal teams to keep things moving.
  • Ensuring maximum fleet utilisation and time-critical allocations.
  • Supporting warehouse operations and collaborating closely with linehaul teams.
  • Delivering excellent customer service, resolving transport queries quickly and professionally.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who's calm under pressure, confident in making decisions, and passionate about transport logistics. You'll need:

  • Previous experience in a similar transport allocator or dispatcher role.
  • Sound knowledge of Sydney's metro area and local delivery logistics.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and able to multitask.
  • Proven ability to manage drivers and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team-oriented mindset and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
  • A professional, level-headed approach, even when things get busy.
  • Previous experience in container transport allocation (preferred but not essential).
  • Understanding of wharf operations, container logistics, and de-hire processes (preferred but not essential).
  • Tech-savvy with experience using transport management systems; Freight 2020, 1-Stop or Container-chain (preferred but not essential).
  • Knowledge of NHVR compliance and fatigue management is an advantage.
  • Monday to Friday role.
