Perth, Western Australia Scotford & Fennessy Full time

Support production; manage the compliance and approvals process for land access.
- Entrepreneurial company culture; expect to develop and evolve in the role.
- Perth HQ'd mining company and producer with local and global operations.

**COMPLIANCE AND LAND ACCESS MANAGER**

**ROLE OVERVIEW**

Scotford Fennessy has been retained to secure a Compliance and Land Access Manager for a Perth-headquartered, global miner / producer.

A broad role, you will have ample opportunity to make it your own. Entrepreneurship is a core value for this organisation. This role will particularly suit if you have found yourself 'boxed in' in your current role due to the constraints of large miners.

While a global presence, they remain a nimble, privately-owned organisation. They can speak to numerous situations where a role started with a certain remit, only to expand beyond that through the input of the incumbent to that role.

**DAY TO DAY**

Your initial remit will be to support production through both current and future approvals for the business in terms of their exploration and mining activities. Currently being handled by the Geology team, the role has grown to a stage where it requires someone to focus exclusively on this piece.

As a long-standing and active member of the Mid-West community, you will be strongly supported in developing and reinforcing links into the same, especially with traditional owners. Engagement around heritage issues will underpin the role.

As core responsibilities, the role will involve (among other aspects):

- Obtain and upkeep necessary statutory and federal approvals through the development and maintenance of relevant government bodies and regulators
- Manage and champion compliance with the above across the business
- Negotiate land access with traditional owners and other landholders
- Manage tenement approvals, maintenance and renegotiation
- Contribute towards financials, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting on same for your business unit

**IN RETURN**

You'll report to a genuine, trusting manager. Flexibility is given. He is far more concerned that the work is done, than where it is done. All that is expected is that the trust is repaid and not taken advantage of; it's a mature work culture.

Potential growth opportunities exist, particularly in supporting global exploration endeavours. The Americas are a current target.

The fixed salary will be bolstered by an incentive program based on both personal and company performance indicators.

**YOUR BACKGROUND**
- This will best suit if you have a Legal, Mining or other relevant tertiary qualification
- You will have an excellent understanding and be able to interpret the _Mining Act_, as well as other mining, heritage, and environmental legislation
- Strengths in the processing and administration of mining tenements in Western Australia
- Similar experience in the international context would be well received, but not essential
