
Land Access Specialist

Western Australia's growing infrastructure needs a skilled professional to facilitate land access for major projects. As a Land Access Coordinator, you will play a key role in securing private and public land for the construction of essential assets.
This role involves extensive consultation with community stakeholders, regulators, and landowners to ensure smooth project execution. Your expertise will be invaluable in negotiating agreements and resolving conflicts that may arise during the process.
- Advise on sustainable asset positioning and land access strategies to support network management.
- Build and maintain relationships with impacted landowners, including those affected by transmission lines, substations, and other infrastructure developments.
- Provide expert advice and support to internal teams on land access matters.
- Resolve conflicts and escalate issues as necessary to minimize delays and improve corporate reputation.
- Contribute to delivering asset placement options reports, outlining opportunities, constraints, and requirements for landowner approvals.
- Drive improvements to easement, land access, and statutory approval strategies to enhance business operations.
- Identify and raise requirements for obtaining asset and access easements to ensure ongoing access to network assets for construction, maintenance, and delivery.
- Define installation and works remediation scopes for major projects and conduct compliance checks to ensure delivery meets negotiated conditions.
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Project Management, Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Science, or related field, and/or extensive experience or training in construction, electricity, communications, or planning.
- Demonstrated previous experience in a role dealing with land access, easements, or similar issues.
- Good understanding of legislation governing land access and securing easements, preferably within a utility context.
- Well-developed communication and conflict resolution skills with a proven ability to negotiate effectively.
- Strong technical skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues specific to the position.
- Sound knowledge and experience in community consultation, including speaking in public forums where stakeholders have opposing interests and understanding environmental obligations.
- Knowledge of construction, maintenance, and operational field practices.
- Valid WA Driver's License Class 'C' or 'C-A'
