An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Land Access and Tenure Manager within our Project Services team based in Perth commencing as soon as possible. As the Land Access and Tenure Manager you will be managing a growing team of 10+ team members and be primarily responsible for providing the business with expert advice on strategy for land access and tenement management as required for the business to deliver on its strategic priorities.

MinRes has current operations in the Pilbara and Yilgarn regions of Western Australia and is currently going through a period of exponential growth, including with respect to its already extensive tenure footprint.

**What we're after**

We're looking for someone who is a quick learner, is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and enjoys a challenging yet rewarding work environment. You will be responsible for:

- The management of MinRes's tenement portfolio, including:

- Maintenance of an accurate and up-to-date tenure database relating to mining and other tenure
- Ensuring MinRes's minimum expenditure commitments are achieved through a transparent program of works, regular tracking of expenditure and monitoring the reporting of expenditure
- The management of access agreements and ad hoc interactions with third parties affected by MRL tenure and interests including:

- Leading the negotiation of new agreements and arrangements, requiring a pragmatic understanding of different tenure situations
- Ensuring and monitoring compliance with existing agreements and arrangements
- Supervision of proceedings before the Mining Warden, including instructing external legal advisors as necessary
- Strategic advice to the business regarding the acquisition and divestment of tenure, including conducting due diligence
- Relevant reporting and liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including budgeting and auditing processes

**What you'll bring to the team**
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Law or similar)
- Extensive working knowledge with the WA Mining Act and Regulations and good working knowledge of other legislation relevant to tenure in WA, including the WA Land Administration Act, WA Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act and Petroleum Pipelines Act and the Commonwealth Native Title Act
- Well-developed knowledge and experience in the practicalities of tenure and land access
- Expertise with key Government operational systems and databases including Tengraph and Mineral Titles Online and familiarity with other systems including the Petroleum Geothermal Register, MINEDEX, Aboriginal Heritage Inquiry System etc
- Proficiencies with tenement management and agreement compliance databases and document control systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication, relationship, and leadership skills including high-level negotiation and presentation skills
- Superior organisational skills, proven ability to manage competing priorities and delegations appropriately
- Demonstrated initiative and creative problem solving skills
- Experience in Mining Warden proceedings, complex joint venture arrangements and expenditure management highly regarded
