**Overview**

This role will support the Sustainability Manager to develop a human rights protection and risk management framework for MUFG Pension & Market Services. This includes leading a review of procurement processes and policies to promote human rights and mitigate the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chain.

This role will also work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to strengthen and support MPMS' social impact strategy and community programs.

**Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities**

Strategic Focus
- Provide strategy and practical advice regarding the protection of human rights and management of modern slavery risk across the organisation's operations and supply chain
- Strengthen and support the development and delivery of the social impact strategy and community programs

Operational Management

Human Rights
- Map the end-to-end process of supplier RFP, selection, onboarding and ongoing management to understand when and how human rights-related risk analysis and due diligence is (or could be) carried out, making recommendations for improvement
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing modern slavery training and make recommendations for improvement
- Work with the Modern Slavery Working Group to develop a proposed framework, processes, and any documents required to uplift human rights due diligence and risk management
- Identify a list of highest risk suppliers in relation to modern slavery, and develop a priority list of suppliers to engage with input from businesses
- Work with supplier relationship owners to request information and conduct checks on supplier governance and labour practices
- Lead the preparation of the annual Modern Slavery Statement, including drafting case studies and obtaining relevant data from internal stakeholders

Social Impact
- Identify opportunities to increase positive social impact across MPMS operations, and work with internal and external stakeholders to develop a global social impact strategy
- Lead the community investment strategy and support the Together for Good Working Group and local community champions to deliver giving and volunteering programs globally
- Work with the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging team to improve accessibility and inclusion, both internally and for MPMS clients and products
- Track, measure and promote the organisation's social impact, contributing to sustainability reporting and external communications as required

People Leadership
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders across the organisation

Governance & Risk
- Support sustainability, risk and compliance functions in identifying, assessing and managing human rights and modern slavery risk
- Comply with risk and compliance training requirements

**Experience & Personal Attributes
- Minimum 5 years in sustainability, social impact or human rights roles within the professional services or finance industries.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Strong experience managing human rights and modern slavery programs in a large, complex organisation, including modern slavery reporting
- Experience in human rights-related risk analysis and due diligence within supplier processes.
- Experience in conducting supplier assessments and audits, particularly in regions with higher risk.
- Demonstrated experience in leading social impact and community engagement programs
- Strong influencing, relationship building and collaboration skills
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders and prepare reports and presentations
