**About the team**
The Infrastructure and Place (IP) division is in the process of delivering a significant and once-in-a generation multi-billion program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. We are dedicated and passionate team that is proud of the work we do and the supportive and flexible team culture we have built.
The role sits within the Development branch, which is responsible for the development of infrastructure and place projects that facilitate economic, social and environmental outcomes for the people of NSW.
**The opportunity**
Joining the Transport Asset Revitalisation Program (TARP) you will be responsible for identifying and driving opportunities to develop underutilised government owned lands, implementing integrated transport and property development solutions whilst delivering upon government objectives to maximise return on investment.
As this role is responsible for the assessment and delivery of commercial development opportunities, protecting transport operations and working commercially with the private sector. As many projects are transport enabled renewal projects, experience in both the property development and transport infrastructure sectors is an advantage.
It's no secret that you will encounter challenges in this role, the stakes are high and the pressure is on as we deal with budget and time constraints, interface issues and public scrutiny. This is an opportunity to join the public sector, to make a significant difference by taking part of establishing this new function within the Development Branch.
**Your main accountabilities will be to**:
- Identify, evaluate and define development and repurpose opportunities for residual or underutilised land in the transport portfolio
- Maximise development opportunities from inception through design, approvals and delivery
- Define and head project business cases, strategy, planning, and specialist consultants to deliver the project goals.
- Provide high quality commercial advice for priority initiatives to achieve the required governance and best commercial outcomes for all parties
- Mentor and manage multi-disciplinary teams which may include commercial, property, finance and legal teams
- Build and maintain strong networks and stakeholders relationships across the industry and transport cluster
- Plan and manage the procurement of consultants and specialist advisors
- Evaluate, plan and manage complex procurements and property transactions
- Work with diverse stakeholder groups including across the NSW Government, local Government responsible for leading project workstreams/stages
**About you**
We are looking for Development professionals with approximately 7+ years' experience in Property Development. You must be autonomous and be able to take responsibility for decision making on projects.
In addition you have:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline with extensive experience across the project development lifecycle
- A demonstrated ability to build and deploy multi-disciplinary teams in a complex and often challenging mixed use environment
- The ability to review and flex systems and processes to manage risk and drive improve outcomes for investments
- Advanced communication, relationship building and influencing skills to engage, influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
