• Work Rights: Full work rights in Australia OverviewWe are seeking a Senior IT Risk and Governance Manager with proven expertise in IT governance, stakeholder engagement and risk management.
The role will identify, prioritise, and manage risk, continuous improvement and project-based activities within the IT team, covering existing applications, support desk, and outsourced support.
The Senior IT Leader will ensure that risks documented in the organisation's risk register are tracked and resolved in alignment with solution architecture recommendations provided by the Enterprise Architect.Supporting the role is an IT Project Manager who will provide operational assistance, focusing on reviewing in-flight projects, establishing project controls, and fostering transparency and accountability.Key Responsibilities:Risk Oversight:
• Proactively manage a comprehensive view of IT risks based on the existing risk register, ensuring all identified risks are accurately tracked and mitigation activities are well-coordinated and reported.

• Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect to align recommendations with feasible and pragmatic risk-mitigation plans.

• Establish clear remediation pathways for risks related to architecture, security, service quality, and other critical areas.Project Governance & Visibility:
• Increase visibility of in-flight IT projects by working with the IT Project Manager to introduce simple but effective governance and reporting frameworks.

• Develop and present regular updates to internal stakeholders, ensuring clarity on project progress, risk statuses, and decisions required.

• Identify any gaps in the portfolio (e.g., resource constraints, cross-dependencies) and escalate issues in a timely manner.Stakeholder Engagement:
• Engage project stakeholders and provide regular, evidence-based communication about project progress and IT risk management efforts.

• Support the Director of IT and Digital Services in managing the interface between IT operations and stakeholders for risk management and project portfolio management, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment of priorities.Leadership:
• Provide coaching and support to IT team on risk and project management, with a focus on empowering team members to take ownership of risks and project delivery outcomes.

• Coach and guide the IT Project Manager to successfully implement project controls and facilitate improved delivery practices.

• Promote a culture of accountability and transparency in issues management, risk escalation, and stakeholder communication.Key Skills:
• Strong background in IT risk management, project governance, and stakeholder engagement.

• Demonstrated ability to address procedural gaps with a pragmatic approach.

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a track record of building trust across diverse stakeholder groups.

• Ability to lead with influence and manage change resistance
• Deep understanding of IT architecture, information security, and service quality assurance.Experience:
• Minimum 10+ years of IT management experience, including a focus on governance and risk mitigation.For all Australian based contract and temporary roles, please note the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading.
