Financial Accountant (Contract with possibility of permanent)Location: Arundel, QLD (onsite, street parking available)Contract Dates: June 2025 – December 2025 with possibility of extension afterwardsWork Hours: 7:00am – 3:00pm (flexible), 38 hours/weekPurpose of the Role:This newly created position supports the finance team in delivering accurate and timely management and financial reporting.
The role involves preparing month-end journals, completing balance sheet reconciliations, and managing project claims.Team Structure & Culture:The successful candidate will work alongside a Financial Lead, Accountant, and Assistant Accountant.
The environment is collaborative, yet requires someone confident to work independently once settled.
A proactive approach, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are essential, particularly given the role's heavy use of Excel.Key Responsibilities:Collating and processing client claims within tight deadlinesPreparing journals, cost allocations, and cost transfersAssisting with reporting and reconciliation tasksSupporting process improvements and maintaining documentationCommunicating with internal and external stakeholders, including project managers and clientsIdeal Candidate Profile:Experience in project accounting, cost control, financial reconciliations, and claimsStrong Excel skills (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF)Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a finance/project environmentCA/CPA qualified or currently working towards qualificationSAP experience is a plusThis role is not focused on accounts payable/receivablePay Rate: $50–$55/hour + super (depending on experience) + superAt Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all.
