Optronics Engineer
We are seeking a skilled
Electro-Optical Systems Designer
to lead the development of cutting-edge optical systems.
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optics, physics, and electrical engineering, with experience in designing and developing electro-optical systems. They will be responsible for defining system architecture, evaluating key technology options, and leading the development of solutions that meet stringent performance and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design studies of electro-optical systems, including architecture definition, technology trade-offs, and performance evaluation.
Define high-level system requirements and decompose them into subsystem specifications.
Develop models and simulations to predict system performance in operational environments.
Conduct technology assessments and propose suitable solutions across optics, sensors, electronics, and mechanics.
Collaborate with experts to integrate specialist knowledge into the system design.
Prepare and lead design reviews, technical documentation, and compliance assessments.
Support supplier selection, integration planning, and system validation in lab environments.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
At least 5 years of experience in designing and developing optronic or electro-optical systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical design activities and manage system-level integration challenges.
Strong understanding of optical system design, focal plane arrays, sensor electronics, image processing, and real-time systems.
Familiarity with modelling and simulation tools.
Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams and with international partners.
Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
